Public sex: the culture of radical sex - Pat Califia
This is a collection of Pat Califia's clear and intelligent essays before his sex change. In the most recent edition the essay on sex with youth has been removed. (B £10)
That's Revolting: Queer Strategies for resisting assimilation - Mattilda, Aka Matt Bernstein Sycamore Eds.
A collection of provocative essays on different themes but with a central idea that the gay movement needs to stop trying to just obtain straight privilege and start to challenge power. Amongst the writers are Pat Califia, Carol Queen and Dean Spade. (B £8)
Cunt, a declaration of independence - Inga Muscio
This book changed many women's lives as it passionately reclaimed the word cunt and with it women's sexuality. The author encourages a loving, intimate relationship between women and their cunt and bleeding, describes her experiences of herbal abortion (see our warning in the health section), and calls for women to fight against patriarchy and capitalism by supporting and creating a 'cunt loving universe'. Great resource chapter despite being American focused. (B £7)

The ethical slut, a guide to infinite sexual possibilities - Dossie Easton and Catherine Liszt
The ethical slut is seen as an indispensable tool for people in open relationships or wishing to step away from traditional monogamy. It is inherently critical of the society we live in and gives a comprehensive set of skills for being in open relationships. This book is an open celebration of sex in all its forms. Note to European readers: this is written in a very American style, try not to let it put you off because it is a wonderful book. (B £10)
